IRON MAN – Unique handmade marquetry

My name is Laszlo Sandor. I'm a Hungarian graphic designer. I create unique marquetry portraits using carefully selected high quality materials. I begin work based on a photo of my client and provide a digital preview for revision before the actual handcrafting begins. The design is finalized during multiple revisions as necessary. Wood Arts was born out of my love of marquetry, which I have inherited from my father. I think it's sad, that quality wood products are becoming increasingly rare in our everyday life, a trend that may spell the end of this historical craft.
My goal is to revitalize and popularize marquetry as an artform, perhaps reintroducing it to our households once more.
Used wood type: Birch, White Ash, Beech, Padouk, Sapelli Mahogany, Makassar Ebony, Blue Maple (this part painted only)
Used color: white, light yellow, mallow, red, claret, brown, black, cyan blue

My goal is to revitalize and popularize marquetry as an artform, perhaps reintroducing it to our households once more.

Then the marquetry is made in any one of the three available sizes (12x12, 15x20, 20x30cm). A Wood Arts-ot a fa iránti szeretet hívta életre. Az intarzia (faberakás) technikáját még az édesapámtól tanultam. Szomorúan látom, hogy a minőségi faanyagokat egyre inkább nélkülözzük a mindennapjainkból, így lassan teljesen eltűnhet ez a nagy múltú szakma is. Ezt szeretném megakadályozni ezzel a hiánypótló tevékenységgel, remélve, hogy újra a napjaink része lehet ez a méltatlanul elfeledett művészeti ág.
A gondosan megválogatott minőségi alapanyagoknak és a művészi kivitelezésnek köszönhetően egyedi intarzia portrékat készítek. Kapott fényképek alapján dolgozom, amiről minden esetben látványtervet küldök a tényleges munka megkezdése előtt. A munkafolyamat során egyeztetve a megrendelővel alakítjuk ki a végső változatot. Alapvetően portrék készítését vállalom három választható méretben (12x12, 15x20, 20x30cm), de igény esetén egyéb méretű és témájú képek is rendelhetők.
